Which system are you using? Can you tell the difference?

As some of you may be aware, during the past 18 months Ciaran and Vanessa have been testing several HR and Safety systems as part of our future bundles set to roll out next month. Unfortunately, I have noticed that the majority of these system owners appear to be confused as to exactly what their systems are, and how they help small and medium businesses.
Some are calling them “people management systems” whilst others are calling them ERP/ERMs (Enterprise Resource Planning or Management), yet neither are correct and some of their functionality serves only to make them poor competitors for other apps that would be better suited as integrations to their core function.
It is important to understand what your HR system does and does not do to ensure it neatly integrates with supporting systems, does not create duplicate work and is positioned correctly in the market place with other HR or related systems.
